Summer 2013 students - first summer of the lab in full operation!

The BONE Lab is located in the New Bioengineering and Sciences Building (BSB), which is part of the Erik Jonson School of Engineering and Computer Sciences. The lab was established in November 2012 and is currently equipped with modern tools for biomaterials synthesis and characterization. Visit our Research page for detailed information about facilities available in our laboratory. Major characterization equipment available for student use include: Digital VHX-2000 3-D Microscope (Keyence Corporation), Discovery HR-3 Rheometer (TA Instruments), Rotational Viscometer (Brookfield Instruments), Uv-vis Nanodrop (Fisher Scientific), Bionix Servohydraulic Materials Testing System (MTS, Bionix 370), Potentiostat (Gamry Instruments), and automated polisher. The BONE lab is located close to the Electron Microscopy and Thermal Analysis facilities at the UTD campus. Cell culture and microbiology facilities are also available through collaborations with other research labs on campus.

Our research projects are also developed in collaboration with other PIs and clinical partners from: Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry (Dallas, TX), University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (Dallas, TX), Texas Back Institute (Plano, TX), Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM, Santa Maria, Brazil), Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS, Porto Alegre, Brazil).
